Juicy Couture

was acquired by Liz Claiborne

Juicy Couture is a premium designed, marketer, and wholesaler of sophisticated basics for women, men, and children, and is internationally recognized as a leading contemporary brand of casual lifestyle clothing. Founded in 1997 by Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor, the company became an instant hit with celebrities in the US market. Juicy Couture’s collections include the signature velour tracksuits, T-shirts, and jeans made from premium fabrics with unique detailing and dramatic colors. The brand has since expanded into other categories including handbags, shoes, intimates, swimwear, fragrance, and accessories.

Based in Los Angeles, Juicy Couture established itself as an industry leader in the category of luxury basics and has crafted a unique and successful brand. The company’s products are available in over 840 specialty stores such as Scoop, Barney’s, Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendel, and Fred Segal, and approximately 280 department stores throughout the U.S., as well as over 300 stores internationally.

In early 2002, Juicy Couture engaged The Sage Group to research opportunities in the market. Ultimately, Liz Claiborne, Inc. completed the purchase of 100 percent of the stock of Travis Jeans, Inc. which owns the assets comprising Juicy Couture.
